In the golf operation, I have strived to constantly improve the quality of the experience, by enhancing the level of services that we provide to the golfers. After many months of negotiation, we are excited to announce the creation of the “Casa de Campo Golf Academy by David Leadbetter.”

David is internationally recognized as the world’s leading golf instructor. His contribution to the success of Nick Faldo is well known. His past and present students include: Ernie Els, Michelle Wie, Justin Rose, Charles Howell III, Ian Poulter and many more. Starting at Christmas time, one of David senior’s certified instructors, Tim Vickers, will join our staff to provide you and your guests the highest level on instruction and club fitting program. All lessons, clinics, schools will be given using top quality V1 video capturing system, teaching aids and launch monitor. I visited the Leadbetter Academy at Champion Gates a few weeks ago and I was very impressed with not only the instruction program but with the technology they use to help you improve.

David is totally committed to making our Academy one the finest in the world. He has committed to come to Casa de Campo in the next few months and do a clinic for all of us. We are presently working on a site where Pete Dye and David will design a learning center with a full driving range, an area to specifically practice your pitching, chipping, bunker play and putting. With the improvements at the hotel, our perfect weather, great golf courses, Dominican hospitality, all our resorts amenities and now high level of instructions, there will be no better place than Casa de Campo for golfers.

Tim Vickers is a native of the United Kingdom (born in Leeds, England) and was educated in England, France and the Netherlands before moving to the United States in 1998.

In Europe, Tim excelled as a junior athlete competing at top levels in numerous sports. It was when he came to America, however, that Tim turned 100% of his focus to golf. Over the coming years he developed a keen enthusiasm and zeal for the game.

After a solid high school career, Tim earned a walk on spot at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and following two promising years at Tennessee, Tim was recruited to play at Florida State where he earned his undergrad degree in 2004.

After four years developing his skills in college, Tim turned to the professional ranks. In three years of professional golf, Tim competed on the European Challenge Tour, Europe's Developmental Tour and Alps Tour, as well as stateside on the Gateway Tour.

Tim was introduced to David Leadbetter's golf instruction early in his junior career and over an eight year span developed a keen understanding of the golf swing and a passion for David's unique holistic approach.

Tim was impressed so much by the philosophy of David that he stopped playing competitively in 2008 to become a DLGA certified instructor and is currently teaching at Casa de Campo Resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
